Welcome to brockalston.com (the “Site”), operated by Natchez Press LLC (“Natchez Press,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a Tennessee limited liability company. By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. About the Site

The Site is the author website of Brock Alston and exists to share information about his books, publish related content, and offer opportunities to subscribe to his author newsletter. The Site does not sell books directly; purchase links direct visitors to third‑party retailers.

These Terms also cover the Dedication Wall at dedication.jetsonsjourney.com.

2. Intellectual Property

All content on the Site—including text, blog posts, book excerpts, cover images, photographs, audio, video, logos, and underlying design—is the property of Natchez Press LLC, Brock Alston, or our licensors, and is protected by U.S. and international copyright and trademark law. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, publish, or display any content from the Site without our prior written permission, except for personal, non‑commercial use of brief excerpts with proper attribution.

Book titles, character names, and series names appearing on the Site are works of authorship protected under applicable law.

 

3. Permitted Use

You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes. You will not:

  • Use the Site in any way that violates applicable law or regulation

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Site

  • Interfere with the Site’s operation or security

  • Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to extract content

  • Misrepresent your identity or affiliation

  • Use the Site to transmit harmful, harassing, or unlawful material

 

4. Email Subscriptions

The Site offers email subscriptions through third‑party providers (including MailerLite). By subscribing, you consent to receive email communications from Brock Alston and Natchez Press LLC. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email or by contacting us. We do not sell, rent, or share subscriber information except as described in our Privacy Policy.

 

5. Reader Rewards and Promotional Content

From time to time, the Site offers free content such as novellas, short stories, or other reader rewards. These are provided through third‑party delivery services (including BookFunnel) and are licensed for personal, non‑commercial use. Redistribution, resale, or unauthorized sharing of these files is prohibited.

 

6. The Dedication Wall

Who can post. You must be 18 or older to post a dedication.

What you promise. When you post, you promise that the dog is yours or that you have permission to post about it; that you took the photo or have the right to share it; that anyone who appears in the photo has agreed to its being posted; and that your post does not break any law or anyone else’s rights.

What you let us do. You keep ownership of everything you post. You give Natchez Press LLC a free, non-exclusive, worldwide license to store, display, resize, and share your dedication (the photo, your dog’s name, and your line) on the Dedication Wall, in link previews when someone shares your dedication, and in our emails and social media posts about the Dedication Wall. The license ends when you remove your dedication, except for emails and posts already sent or published and for backup copies we keep for a short time.

What you can’t post. Anything that is not a dedication to a dog; anything hateful, harassing, sexual, violent, or threatening; advertising, links, or spam; a person’s face without that person’s agreement; or anything you don’t have the right to share.

Review and removal. We review every post before it appears, and part of that review may be automated. We may decline, hide, or remove any dedication at any time, and we have no obligation to publish one. You can remove yours at any time with the link in your confirmation email or by writing to admin@brockalston.com.

Invitations. You may ask us to email an invitation to up to five people per dedication. Invite only people you know and who would welcome it. We send a fixed message, once per person, and anyone who receives one can ask not to be emailed again.

Hearts. Hearts are a way to show appreciation. They have no other purpose or value.

Changes. We may change or end the Dedication Wall at any time.

7. Copyright Complaints

If you believe something on the Dedication Wall infringes your copyright, send our designated agent a notice that includes:

  1. your physical or electronic signature;

  2. a description of the copyrighted work;

  3. the address (URL) of the material you want removed;

  4. your name, address, phone number, and email address;

  5. a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and

  6. a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act for the owner.

When we receive a valid notice, we remove the material and let the person who posted it know. If you posted the material and believe it was removed by mistake, you may send a counter-notice to the same agent, including your signature; a description of the material and where it appeared; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification; your name, address, and phone number; and your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if you live outside the United States, any district in which we may be found) and to accept service from the person who sent the original notice. We will forward it, and unless that person tells us within 10 business days that they have filed a court action, we will restore the material within 10 to 14 business days.

We close posting for anyone who repeatedly infringes others’ copyrights.

8. Third‑Party Links

The Site contains links to third‑party websites, including book retailers (Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Apple Books, Bookshop.org), social media platforms, and content delivery services. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of any third‑party site. Your use of those sites is governed by their own terms.

 

9. Disclaimers

The Site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non‑infringement.

Content on the Site—including blog posts, author notes, and informational pages—is provided for general informational and entertainment purposes only. Nothing on the Site constitutes professional, legal, financial, medical, or other advice. The Site’s fictional works are works of imagination; resemblance to real persons, businesses, or events is coincidental except where explicitly identified.

 

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Natchez Press LLC, Brock Alston, and our affiliates, employees, agents, and licensors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the Site, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

 

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Natchez Press LLC, Brock Alston, and our affiliates from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your use of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.

 

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. The “Effective” date at the top will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Material changes will be communicated through a notice on the Site.

 

13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Site shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Williamson County, Tennessee, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

 

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
